This photo was missing vital parts and was badly damaged and faded. Since it is not possible to restore what does not exist—in this case, a large part of the table and what was underneath it—I solved that issue by carefully inserting and working in a new table.
The long table cloth hid some of the under-the-table issues that could not be restored and helped bring it all together.
The image also required additional patching where other areas were missing, as well as general restoration.
The people were the primary focus of this image, and they have taken back their rightful place at the table.
