In case you want to know…
Why are you doing this?
Even as a child family photographs fascinated and delighted me. When I lived with my grandparents in Stavanger, Norway I would sneak up into the attic where boxes of old photographs languished in the dark corner of a storage alcove. On cold and dreary days I often spent hours in the attic studying these photographs—people’s faces, their clothing, and the activities they were engaged in—and I developed an enduring passion for preserving family history.
What experience do you have?
I have 29 years experience working as a self-employed graphic designer and am super proficient working with Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Lightroom, the two software packages most often used to restore and enhance photographs.
How do you do it?
Restoring your cherished photos can be a complicated process involving the use of a unique set of artistic and technical skills. There is no app for what I do and it takes patience and great attention to detail to erase the damage time has caused while maintaining the original intent, texture and “soul” of your photo.
What do you do in your free time?
I never get tired of creating digital art in Photoshop, especially during the long winter months, and I hit the lakes kayaking in the summer.
What do you love?
I love my family, dogs, photography, kayaking, history and reading.
